Accessibility commitment

Website Version 2.0 is designed around semantic structure, keyboard access, visible focus, descriptive text, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, and content that does not depend on color alone.

Measures incorporated

  • A skip link and landmark-based page structure
  • Logical heading hierarchy and descriptive page titles
  • Keyboard-operable navigation with Escape handling and focus containment on mobile
  • Visible focus indicators for links and controls
  • Alternative text for meaningful images and decorative treatment for non-content graphics
  • A clear direct-email pathway that can be opened with a keyboard or assistive technology
  • Responsive layouts tested at desktop, mobile, narrow-mobile, and enlarged-text conditions
  • Reduced-motion behavior for visitors who request it through device settings

Compatibility objective

ERSA uses WCAG 2.2 Level AA as an internal design and testing target while recognizing that exact behavior can vary by device, browser, operating system, assistive technology, and user configuration. This statement describes ERSA’s operating objective and is not a representation that every page will behave identically in every environment.

Continuing review

ERSA will continue testing the website as hosting, content, and browser technologies change. Confirmed barriers will be prioritized according to their effect on access to core information and the inquiry pathway.

Report a barrier

Use the direct email pathway on the Begin a Conversation page. Identify the page or feature, describe the barrier and the technology being used, and do not include sensitive personal information. ERSA will review credible reports and make reasonable efforts to address confirmed barriers.
